Why does your organization need this item?
Hope Harbor provides three daily nutritious meals and healthy snacks for homeless teens. Dining together opens the lines of communication between the House Parents and the teens, where mental health issues and struggles are often revealed.
How will it be used to help your organization achieve its mission?
Decades of research have shown that teens who regularly dine with their families at home do better on several health measures, such as lower rates of substance abuse, teen pregnancy, school behavioral problems, and depression.
